Recipe: Frozen Yogurt Banana Bites

This is the perfect guilt-free treat for those of you trying to eat healthy (and even those of you who aren’t), and it’s perfectly simple to make and delicious! Makes an awesome snack or dessert :)

What you need:

  • Banana
  • Yogurt - I opt for the light vanilla yogurt, but you can basically use any kind you want
  • Parchment or wax paper
  • Toothpicks (not pictured)

First, you need to peel and slice the banana into about half-inch slices and set the slices on a piece of parchment paper.

Next, spoon just enough yogurt onto each slice of banana to cover each piece.

Then stick a toothpick into each slice.

Lastly, stick them in the freezer for about 45 minutes then take them out and enjoy!!

Hi cuties,

I am back! And as a gift to those of you who missed me (anybody?), I will be posting a little somethin’ tonight! I have to give some credit to my sister for my return, as she has been blogging a lot lately (http://the-laughing-fox.tumblr.com/) and it inspired me… Also, I have a bet going with a friend to see who can go the longest without facebook, so without that distraction I need something other than pinterest to ease my withdrawals. I know, I’m pathetic. Shut up.

Beauty Tip Tuesday!

To help you cool down with the summer heat, get yourself some Peppermint Cooling Gel from the body shop! It’s called “Peppermint Cooling Leg Gel” and is originally for your legs, but I put it all over for a chilling sensation, I love it! It keeps you feeling cool for a long time, it’s so awesome. Actually, I just ordered more today. You can order it here http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/body-products/foot-care-products/peppermint-cooling-leg-gel.aspx if you please!

Beauty Tip Tuesday!

Ok, so is anyone else’ week totally off? I held off on posting a tip because I kept thinking tomorrow is tuesday… whoops! So, as I’ve said before, I cannot stand sleeping in make-up. Gross. Turns out, I was on the right track because every night you sleep in make-up, your face ages 7 days. That’s right, a whole fucking week! So stay young (looking) ladies, wash up!

Beauty Tip Tuesday!

This tip could not be more perfect for summer! For those of you who let the sun get the best of you, and realize you have 2nd degree burns after a day in summer sun, have no fear! Here are a couple of household sunburn remedies to try if you don’t have aloe handy…

Vinegar: splash it all over your burn and it should soothe and cool the sunburn. but you might want to reapply it every 20min or so if you feel the need.

Baking soda: take a cool bath and add baking soda to the water, don’t towel or rinse off the solution. this should help with the horrible sunburn itch we’ve all experienced.

But above all, I recommend lathering on sunscreen religiously while you’re in the sun to avoid sunburns at any cost. If you’re searching to get some color, I recommend a low sunscreen like SPF15 and reapply every once in awhile. Happy sunbathing everyone!

DIY: lace skirt

Hey guys, this DIY is super cute and fun and I enjoyed making it almost as much as I enjoyed wearing it. I got the inspiration from www.lovemaegan.com. So, without further adieu…

What you need:

  • Lace fabric (I used almost a yard, but you can use however much you want depending on how long you want it)
  • Ribbon
  • Sewing needles, pins, and thread that matches the lace
  • Scissors

First, cut your lace into a circle-ish shape. (I just mostly rounded the edges of the square it was originally in because I was going for the uneven look).

Cut an even circle in the middle of your fabric for your waist, the circle you cut should be bigger than your waist size.

Next, place the ribbon around the waist and pin the fabric over it like a tunnel (kind of).

When you’re finished pinning the ribbon around your waist, cut a small hole on the opposite side (which will be the front) so your ribbon can pull through.

Lastly, sew around the waist where you’ve placed all your pins. It doesn’t matter which kind of stitch you use because it doesn’t show. And voila, you’re done!

Enjoy!

Beauty Tip Tuesday!

Hello Beauts! This is an easy DIY teeth whitening tip for those of you who want to brighten your smile a bit. All you need is strawberries and baking soda! So what you do is: mash up a strawberry and add a little but of baking soda (maybe like a tsp.), and it’ll look gross and taste a little gross too but I’ve tried it and I felt like I saw a difference. Just put some on your teeth that show when you smile and leave on for like 5 minutes. This mixture isn’t very good for your teeth if you do it often, so maybe try it like once a week. If you have trays for your teeth you can put the mixture in that to hold it there (I used my clear retainers) but other than that I don’t really know how you’d get it to stay… maybe try plastic saran wrap to hold it onto your teeth? Anyway, good luck and let me know how this works for you!
